Position: Lead Teacher

 

Responsibilities:

​​

  • Direct all aspects of the program administration, operations, and compliance with standards and regulations for the Department of Early Childhood Education (DECE) and DOHMH.

  • Work with employees to plan and administer curricula that meet federal and New York state criteria.

  • Guarantee that Blue Sky Daycare center’s facilities are safe for children and adhere to all applicable regulations and laws.

  • Responsible for evaluating supplies, equipment, and materials.

  • Responsible for supporting and managing teaching employees, as well as promoting their professional development.

  • Train new teachers and employees to ensure they meet all legal requirements and rules.

  • Meet with parents and talk with them about Blue Sky Daycare center’s policies and their children.

  • Facilitate and develop a communications and marketing plan.

Job Requirements:

​

  • New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education or any field of study.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching in an early childhood setting as a co-Teacher and/or Head Teacher.

  • Prior Department of Health/OCFS training, infant, and Adult CPR/First Aid Certification

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in early childhood education or any related field of study.

  • Salary: Commensurate with Experience
